During our only home meet of the year, junior Caden Lowman was our 7th runner. He has been consistently in that position on the team this year and defending it well. He is by far the best 7th runner in the 2A state this year. Wednesday's effort was his best so far, but it was on our black course, so his PR on athletic.net does not truly reflect how well he is really running. As an 800 Meter runner, he was able to blast by the first Columbia River guy in the last 100 meters with incredible running form, thus giving us a perfect 15-50 win. With the many facets of the different XC runners on the course each race, this one statement appears to be evident: "Most other XC runners hate 800 Meter runners during the last 100 meters of the race."
During our only home meet of the year, junior Clara Best was our 7th runner. She has been consistently battling for that position on the team this year appears to be locking it down. She is closing in on being the best 7th runner in our league this year. Wednesday's effort was her best so far, but it was on our black course, so her PR on athletic.net does not truly reflect how well she is really running. As a 400 Meter runner, she was able to blast by two Columbia River girls in the last 100 meters with incredible running form. With the many facets of the different XC runners on the course each race, this one statement appears to be evident: "Most other XC runners hate 400 Meter runners during the last 100 meters of the race."
