There are many variations on the definition of "Rogue." They include "Operating outside normal or desirable controls", "A vicious and solitary animal that has separated itself from its herd", "One who is playfully mischievous" and "Large, destructive, and anomalous or unpredictable as in an ocean wave or tornado." For Hayden Stinchfield, he may be labeled as "playfully mischievous" at times, but delightfully we can classify his performance at the All-League meet like one of those unpredictable "Sneaker" waves that we did not see coming. It was definitely destructive as his 1:19 PR dwarfed all of our other PR's of the day. The best part about it that made his performance "Rogue"? His pet dog named Rogue was on hand to cheer him on to his remarkable success.
Annabelle Palmer has been our most consistent Panther girl over the past 14 months. Last year, the theme for her was to trust the process, as she improved consistently and gradually all season long. Her last two races of last year produced times of 22:18 and 22:19. Lately, she has been running very consistently with times of 22:20 and 22:21. Amazingly, her top four times of her life were within four seconds prior to the All-League meet. The night before, on the show Arrow, the quote "You must trust the process!" was shared on the bus ride to Longview. Annabelle embraced the quote and ran with confidence as she ran a huge PR of nearly 25 seconds, breaking 22:00 for the first time. Annabelle's contributions have been a big factor in the success of our team.
