Trey Keyser

Ferocious Freshman Finishes

Trey Keyser

Trey Keyser has been finding himself in some very serious battles at the finish line this year. At Ultimook, he was neck and neck with senior teammate Caden Lowman. At Port Angeles, he was sandwiched between kids from Klahowya and North Kitsap, one step on either side of him. Then at Woodland, he edged out another senior teammate Hayden Stinchfield. Against Ridgefield, he battled and beat the Spudder's senior transfer from Ellensburg for third place. Trey is gathering all sorts of valuable finishing experience such that when he hits the big time, he will be a force to be reckoned with. Being the top freshman in the district, we anticipate that he will be fighting for an individual championship in his career - and come out on top!

Lauren Filipczak

Running Stealth

Lauren Filipczak

The past two weeks, Lauren Filipczak has been flying under the radar. But that is not the reason she is sporting one of our black uniforms (FV) in her races. Due to not being eligible for varsity competition, we slipped her past the finish chute at the Varsity (the only race of the day) SW Christian meet last week. This week, we pulled her from the results for scoring purposes against Ridgefield. Between those two races, she has chopped off about one full minute over her Black Course P.R. On top of that, her workout on Friday was phenomenal! Although the rest of the League is unaware of her rapid improvement, all the Panther XC runners have noticed and are impressed with Lauren's optimistic attitude under less than desirable circumstances.
