The talk around the Pullen dinner table of Friday night was that Coach Terry might be crazy in regards to his expectations of Aiden's time for the George Fox College Classic. Aiden thought his 18:32 the day before was 5-10 seconds from his max. Coach thought he should be able to break 18. Parents questioned Aiden about Coach's sanity; thankfully they were wrong. Aiden ran the toughest of the Panther boys and was physically and emotionally wiped out as he blitzed to a 17:42! It is not often a Panther earns Runner of the Week twice in the same year, but Aiden's effort brought praise from all his teammates and could not deny the talented freshman of that honor!
Two Weeks ago, Bekah Luthi begged not to run a race yet. In her first athletic endeavor, she was not sure if she could make it 3 miles, well at least not under 30 Minutes. Last week she dipped under on her first attempt. This week's Thursday race did not go well as she ran 31:02. But Saturday was a different story! She cruised to a 27:37 time, nearly 3 1/2 minutes faster than Thursday. Bekah has come a long way in her short career. She sported an ecstatic smile as she put on her first running t-shirt, which was a well-deserved reward for her incredible effort. We just which now that we have had several years of inspiring efforts from her.
